Pontiac Cove Marina

HC 1, Box 600 Pontiac, MO  65729

Pontiac Cove Marina (or Pontiac Boat Dock, as it was called back then) has been in the Morgan family since Joe and Alice Morgan bought it in 1964. They started out with a small store, featuring mainly fishing tackle and bait. They had a few boat slips and fishing boats to rent. Fishing was the main reason folks came to Bull Shoals back then, and it continues to be a very popular pastime. But the purpose for spending time on the lake has evolved. Boating, swimming, scuba diving, water skiing, wakeboarding and sailing are a few of the many reasons people visit Bull Shoals each year.

Joe and Alice had two sons, Tim and Dan. Their younger son, Tim, bought the business May 1, 1978. He changed the name to Pontiac Cove Marina in the early 1980s. He grew the business to what it is today: a thriving operation featuring 250 boat slips, pontoon and fishing boat rentals, a scuba air station, fuel dock, and a store that sells fishing licenses, bait, tackle, boating accessories and toys, souvenirs, beer, soda, snacks and more. (Joe passed away in 1983; Alice in 2000.)
